Default My 996 Pics, Newbie

Hi Y'all, I'm a newbie in the forum & recent owner (3-weeks now) of a 1998, 996 C2 3.4L, Tiptronic, in speed yellow. I has 10K miles when bought, recently serviced @Porsche center. It runs GREAT, feels like new? Interior: black in pristine condition. All other, bone stock except installed Kenwood DDX7034BT & Mio GPS system.

Sweet ride! Don't let them get you down with their IMS/ RMS/ Cats/ Blue cap leaking stuff Have fun with your "new" Porsche! It's a head turner.

Default My New 996

Thank you for the welcome, Gents..

Been fortunate to drive one and can't get rid of the grin every after a drive..it's my daily ride now, unlike some 2nd, 3rd cars owners out there...sure wanna make the investment worthwhile

[ivangene] the bumper, the parking sensors, you mean?

[kent] that's the real bummer, but of I were to spend it in the US, I'd be driving a 2010 Carrera 4S

Nice ride Panski and low miles to boot! I thought 996's only ran the years 99-2004. Please enlighten me don't you mean yours is a 1999?

Airrik, you're correct. The production year (VIN #) indicates it's a (late) 1998 production for Rest of World (ROW). I believe, the US received those early 996 models in 1999, hence 1999 models. My car, arrived in Indonesia in 2000, so it is registered as a 2000 car (production date 1998).

Welcome to the forum Panski. Great car with super low miles. I hope you get to drive it more than the other owner.

Airrik.

Panski is correct when he states that ROW usually get their models earlier thatn the US. That's why they have to pay more that we do!
