Can I buy just the shift boot with the aluminum horse shoe for a 03' 996? I don't want the **** part since I want to get an aluminum ball ****. Not having much luck searching on line. If you have a part # or link please let me know.

I swapped my 2001 996 out for a 997 Silver "S" shift ****. Cut my old boot off high as I could and affixed it to the new **** the same way the 997 boot was affixed. Came out perfect. Had to pull up real hard to get the **** off though!

Props to Gert!! I picked up the Leather Boot with the silver horse shoe from Carnewal and installed the 997 Turbo **** - and it looks really nice. The silver horse shoe helps break up the monotony of the black...

There's a thread here somewhere which shows how to repair a silver coloured horseshoe...it amount to taking the boot apart, sanding the horseshoe, and then painting it silver. Looks as good as or better than new.

That would be the $0 DIY way to get what you are after.
