I'm getting a couple of things painted and wondered how the two bumper pads come off the bumper. I was in a rush today and didn't have time to get under the car with a flashlight - I felt up under the back of the bumper and felt some heat reflecting material covering the backside area I guess to protect from heat given off from the cans. I'm hoping whole bumper doesn't have to come off to get at these two things? I felt the area right under each pad and found a hole with what felt like was a hex bolt?? up under there. Is this the retaining device to remove - one bolt each? Gonna go body color from the old black look and want to kill two birds with one stone if other stuff is being painted this weekend. Thanks all.

Thanks guy's. It's a 'while I was doing project A -option B was also cost effective' type project.

I would take the bumper cover off. You live in a cold weather climate, and there will be all sorts of crap in there. There should be a link for the process.
