Default 45k Maintenance

I am going to do my 45k maintenance check myself. Two questions:

1. Part of the 45K and at most service checks have to do the "Diagnosis system: Read out fault memory." How important is this? There are no "idiot lights" flashing.

2. If #1 not important, will my CPO warranty still be valid if I omit this check or have documentation that it was performed?

I do not have the cable to do the read out but will pick one up if needed.

Thanks

I had the same questions...

Ultimately I decided to use a dealer to do the 45K service... BUT... I called around and found that there was A LOT of variability in pricing. In the end I think I paid somewhere around $350...

What specifically does the read out fault codes tell you?

How important? Important enough for Porsche to put it on the check list to maintain.

Porsche wont accept an inspection done by the Pope. Call them up and see if you qualify

To stay in the contract it has to be done by a qualified tech. Sorry about the joke. I was worse on my first reply
