I'm not gonna comment on the wing, but as long as it's 3M VHB tape and is prepped correctly it will never come off. VHB is now being used to replace welding and mechanical fastening for light gauge metals and obviously plastic in many industries that require a butt type connection. Unlike stitch, seam welding, or mechanical fastening it is able to bite 100% on both surfaces. Not as good as the modern epoxys used in body applications, but very close and a lot less mess.
