Drifting
I restored and painted my original to be an exact match. Painting it is very easy, and I'm sure the paint is much more durable than the original foil finish, but getting that foil off and sanding perfectly smooth is a B****.
Buying your printed blank and painting it seems like a much better solution, but is the blank perfectly smooth? I ask because it appears to have some texture in the photos. I think it needs to be smooth to look good
Before:
After:
Foil removed/sanded: (<-- this took an incredible amount of work to get right)
Paint Used:

That looks great. May I ask how to remove the trim piece?
I have access to a sandblaster which should work well for the removal...

Just a quick update. If anyone needs replacement/reproduction trims, I have opened up access for everyone on eBay, here is the direct link to the ad - https://www.ebay.com/itm/324956434755

Followed the eBay link to your trim piece, Looks great! From the photos, I'm guessing it was extremely cold where ever the pictures were taken?

For cars without the trim ring, do you need to drill into the console itself? or just the shift boot? I can't really tell.

Apologies, a lot going on on my end so wasn't paying attention to ebay, looks like listings are gone. I will try to figure out later this week, in the mean time feel free to make order via Etsy or you can also send $ via PayPal with shipping address and I will get it off to you.

You will only need to drill to the boot and frame that holds the boot (part that detaches from the console and to which boot is glued). Alternatively if you rather not drill, you could cut off the prongs from the trim and glue trim directly onto the boot itself (only theoretically, as I have not tried/tested it)
For those with cars not equipped originally with trim, please refer to some of my photos earlier, 2 front corners are trimmed on frames that came with trim from a factory, this is so that the trim itself has a space to be tucked under the center console, you can try without cutting those to see if it looks ok, I'm only mentioning that since I found that to be the case on my Turbo.
