Installed Fabspeed mufflers today
The cans were easy thanks to gota911's instructions. However I was going to change the plugs too. So I started with the hardest rear one first since the cans were off. However I didn't have a wobble extension, so I put the Fabs on and will change the plugs another day. I'll just pull the cans again since that will be very quick now.
The Fabs are bit quiter than I thought they would be. However no droning on the freeway, except around 60 mph with a 6th gear tip-in, but that's not really an issue.
No I wonder how the Fab cans would sound with the cat delete pipes....hmmm.

Quiet inside the cab, but try opening the windows thru a tunnel, or parking lot, or between a couple buildings, they might be louder than you think. Plus they will burn in and change over the next while.
Good job on the DIY!

Yes, too quiet in the cab, but better than stock that's for sure. I was hoping for a sharper, more aggressive sound. Not complaining about the Fabspeeds - they are a good trade off between better sound (and hopefully a few hp) a little to no drone on the freeway.

Listen to this Cayman...very mean sounding in my opinion. I like it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nj5mo9GAZyc

The CAI will make a diff in sound.... no need for bypass. Sports Cats will also add to the note w/o having a cel. Slippery Slope dude!

I dont know, I listened to that Cayman on better sound system. IMO its too much note on too stock of a car. The drive away, listen how far you can here it and how loud his down shift is maybe 1/2 mile or more away... just too loud. My guess is that his head will be sick of that noise in 1000 miles or less even if his ego says he still likes it.
I had bypass pipes for a little less than a week.... I think my ears are still ringing from the drone - BUT MAN DID IT SOUND COOL!!!

The sound generation setup I have, I really like
EVOMS Intake + Plenum + PSE + Fabspeed Cat/X Pipe
Compliant for street and can open it up and let it howl on track. Being able to 'mute' it also is a plus for early morning departures.
I don't have any recorded audio presently. Hope to rectify in a few weeks.

I did have other guys (driving S4, 997, Vette, and a guy on a mountain bike!) chasing me down just to ask me what kind of muffler I was running.
The bypass pipes are so loud inside the car that it's like your interior is already stripped!
