Default coolant cover is stuck

Hey all, new owner here of a 2000 996 c2. I have owned porsches before but I am new to the 996. I tried opening the coolant cover to no avail. even my friend tried opening it but the thing wont budge. any suggestions?

buy a new cap and expansion tank. After they arrive..... try HARDER!

post up a pic of the car and a pic of your stuck part. Maybe we will see something.

The pressure/vacuum in the system could be contributing to the difficulty. Pull up the bail on the black vent assy behind the cap to equalize the pressure/vacuum in the system. Wait 30 seconds and then try.
