Default Code P0348 - HELP!!

I just finished a clutch/RMS/IMS job and when I turned the engine on the Check Engine Light went on. I checked the code and I get: code P0348 Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit High.

What could be the reason for this?? Can I just reset the light?

Thanks

You can try. Clear error codes and extinquish light and see if light stays off. If if does, result!

If not, then ...

You disturbed the camshaft position sensor connection to the wiring harness or damaged the wiring is my WAG.

Time to locate the connector and make sure the connection is good. Sometimes if a connector is disconnected then connected because the connectors are old it takes more force to get a solid connection. You should feel some kind of snap as the connector seats fully home. You need to look very closely at the connector to see if there are any latch that this latch has obtained a nice latched position.

Before you attempt to reconnect the connector though shine a good light into both connectors and very no pins are bent or or broken off. An old connector can suffer this failure when messed with even if one is careful.

While you are there carefully inspect the wiring from the sensor to the connector and the connector to make sure nothing got damaged during the repair work.

Sincerely,

Macster.

I have no good pics of a 996 engine showing location of the connector. What did you last work on before the P0348 error code showed up?

Sincerely,

Macster.
