I have Cargraphic 200cell cats and my car passed SMOG.

Not sure if Cargraphic cats have CARB # or the tech just didn't know what to look for?

The cats should be covered under the Federal Emissions law for 8 years/80K miles.

as said before, NO aftermarket cats are legal in CA. You may get by just fine because the SMOG station doesn't know any better, but technically ALL aftermarket cats are illegal.
"Most" of the time in CA you can get by just fine because the SMOG guys don't know what's stock or not.
I vote for AWE between your choices. Also, Cargraphic is good and warranties their cats for 2 years.

Ditto what eric523 said. You may pass smog but you would fail the visual inspection. If you get a station that knows what they are doing, they could fail you.
As far as replacing a failed cat. you MUST replace with the OEM cat. only. Warranty is another issue. But only OEM'S are allowed.

There is also MaxSpeed that trades on ebay a lot and they do offer pretty good prices - anyone work with them? They will end up bring about $600 less for the cats and muffler combo, but wondering if it is worth it given time in market/rep. Thoughts?
consider fvd as well... they are the same cats as fabspeed except they are made for dual exhaust.....

well - just as closure to the thread ended up going with fabspeed solution. getting cats, mufflers, and tips (quad - poser i know). Hoping that i like the sound and not expecting any real performance bump. Lifetime guarantee on the product and pretty agressive pricing helped with the decision as well.

Yep and looking forward to doing this myself. Have done nothing but brake and oil change jobs for a while. Of course will be working on the Lemons car this weekend as well so have lots of wrenching ahead!

Hi Bill, fedex will be delivering the parts tomorrow, so it will be a perfect upgrade for the weekend. Give me a shout and let me know how it all worked out, enjoy it.
Thanks,

My car passed with Fabspeed loud exhaust - headers and 100 cell cats. The inspector was looking under the front of the car for the cats!!!! I had to show him were they are.
