Am about to delete the pumpkins and insert a really bright LED bulb in there.

If you've had a positive experience can you list bulb type and vendor here?

Yes you can use them. No they will not give an error, since they are not a critical lights (ie brakes). They are actually considered parking lights.

I think I'm using a 5 led amber light from autoillumination.com.

You can also use a 5 LED white light to replace the parking lights in the headlight.

Festoon LEDs can replace the license plate bulbs, trunk lights, and dome light.

Consult your manual for the proper sizes and connectors.

I got some LED ones - the amber isn't exactly the same amber color... I'd stick with the original style.

Do I need to change the flasher relay? Won't the low current draw give a fast blinking rate?

What flasher relay?

Unless someone has hacked your side markers, they don't flash.
Only Euro cars do that stock.

If someone did hack them, they would have tapped into the flashers in the headlight, I believe, so I wouldn't mess w/ the relay.
