I am involved with several dealers on trading my 99 with 33k miles in perfect condition no motor /no rms, nothing wrong with it at all. The most that a dealer will offer for trade in is 18k. This one with it's issues if you are getting a 18k trade in ...get rid of it now do not think twice.
or try to sell it through auto trader etc.... you may get more. I personally would not put anymore money into it at all because it will only be worth less over time regardless of what you do, what aftermkt you add etc....a losing proposition

Yoops,
The dealer made a statement that it was probably worth 18k in trade pre-failure. They're definitely not offering that in the current state. Also, after his experience, the owner isn't sure he wants another Porsche.

Yoops:

I traded my 99C2 yesterday and they gave me $22k trade in value. 35k miles on the clock - car shows like new!

However - Last month just for fun I went to Carmax (Don't try this at home) they offered me $16k...

Anyway I traded for a 2006-M4 with warrantee........No more RMS, IMS issues for me I can sleep again.

As of last night, and thanks to the input from you guys, he's probably going to offer the car for sale as-is for $12,500-13,000. Please PM and I'd be happy to give anyone his contact info.
Thanks for the great feedback guys,
Joe

I completely understand this......I would have a hard time biting off another PCar if I had to sink that much more into it.
