FWIW here are my costs for an RMS + Clutch from about 4 years ago (36K miles) at my local dealer. The reason for doing the work was a small RMS leak (drops), I wanted the clutch done only because I had no idea how hard the original owner rode the clutch. My only cost was the clutch parts and my deductible.

RMS parts.................................$32
RMS labor at $109/hr.................$1,040
Clutch parts (no flywheel)...........$593
Clutch labor...............................no charge

Knowing my dealer didn't screw me.....priceless!

For both the RMS and clutch almost all the labor involved is separating the transmission from the engine. Yes of course there is some labor unique to each job, but it's relatively small.

BTW, while the transmission is separated from the engine, some people will also update the IMS seal/bolts to the new 997 parts regardless of whether it's leaking or not. The IMS is directly underneath the RMS so it will be exposed anyway. Basically you should only be paying for the parts.

Good luck. If I were you I would find some other dealer to do the job.
