Bringing this back up as I found a hard top. Just where do I check if I have the mounting hardware already installed. I am having a hard time picturing where it is.
I won't be picking up my top for another week.

Some tips in case you did NOT already know them: 2 types of mounts (bayonet and screw). Verify what the hardtop has. And compare to what your car already has so you know top will match your mounts. From post #9 of this thread:
Good HOW-TO just in case:

NOTE: check if the hardtop STILL comes with the front latch cover, wrench and the two SQUARE plastic grilles that cover the mounts once hardtop is installed (different from the round caps in post #17 above). LAST BUT NOT LEAST: make sure rear defogger for hardtop is working.
FRONT LATCH COVER
WRENCH (but a correct allen wrench will work as well). Torque=34 ft-lbs
SQUARE GRILLES (part #7 and 8 in diagram below)
and lastly, 2 plastic inserts to protect/reinforce the holes

You don't NEED any of these pieces, but the latch cover and grilles make the top look better, and IMO the wrench is easier to use than a regular Allen wrench. Odds are the latch cover will be missing (mine was) but the grilles are much more likely to be present. A new latch cover is ~75 bucks, and -- truth be told -- I never got around to buying one. The wrench is ~35-40 bucks; if my top hadn't come with the wrench, I'd probably make do with a garden variety Allen wrench.

My '04 ragtop acquired last Autumn was sans hardtop, Thus I HAD to have one. scored a silver one in Miami off eBay for $200 Yankee dollars. A trucker-friend policed it up and brought it the 600 miles back for free. Then "It's a Porsche, sucka" kicked in. Female mounting hardware ran the wrong side of $300, plus labour. I was going to leave the top in its contrasting silver, but caved and had it painted body colour. That ran one-each pretty penny for a superior job. Then we discovered generations of mice had used the headliner, while the top was stored in a warehouse, as a rodent latrine. It's all good now, but I sure wish I could somehow write off the expenses on my tax return.
