By the way, does anyone know if the rear tints will peel off cleanly? I'm worried that it might damage the rear defroster lines. I'm not really the tinted window type of guy... I'm a family man, after all...

And yes, I am buying the "Carrera 4S" badge. I see them at Pelican. But this is with the "S" in silver or whatever that color is. I have seen some C4S's with a red "S". Is this an "option"?
Personally, I think the red "S" is a bit on the Ricer side. Big deal. It's just an S. (I would just leave it stock. You don't need to advertise any more for Porsche than it already does--and it also leaves you a place to collect and trap junk when you're waxing the deck lid).

The tint adheres with a mastic that can be broken down with a variety of things. Start with the easy going stuff, and work your way up. First off, cover the rear leather shelf well with a turkish bath towel or something equivalent, and then start to get that thing wet from the edges. It may reactivate it, but is dependent upon how long it's been in there. I would use those citrus products to try and break it down--and it won't do much collateral damage. Good luck getting that junk out. Be patient, and avoid the defroster wires by not resorting to a mechanical solution!

The car looks great as it is. Don't clutter up that back end!

Congrats! +1 on adding the rear badge. I know people order them that way but I always think the car was in an accident...

WOW.... a couple of days into ownership and I think I already have more miles on it than Phil's car! hhehehehe sorry, I couldn't resist...

On another note, can someone take a pic of their spare tire/tool kit/jack/air pump? I.e. - does it look like this? Or is there supposed to be some form of styrofoam cover within the wheel like the owner's manual shows?

Nope, my C4S looked like that and my Turbo looks like that, however, it appears that you are missing the air pump. I forget the exact price, but I bought a new one from Suncoast for less than $150.

I got my package "Carrera 4S" package from Pelican Parts today. It looks like the #4 is too small and won't fit perfectly into the "S". Can someone take a closeup pic of their "4S"?

Sorry, no close up but can you just try to fit it? Did you order the '4S', or the entire 'Carrera 4S' badge? What is the p/n?

You can't just "fit it" since the 4 looks un-naturally smaller compared to the "S". If you look at the "S", there's a cutout where the top of the 4 fits snugly into it.

Can you order the entire "Carrera 4S"? I didn't think so. I ordered it in pieces from Pelican Parts per their website:

"Carrera" 996-559-237-10-4PU-M100
"4" 996-559-241-02-4PU-M100
"S" 996-559-243-00-D04-M100

I know how they fit together. If you can't fit the pieces together, then send them back.

Mine looks the same but you are missing air pump.

I went to the dealer and they found that there are 2 "4"s. One is for "upper" and the other is for "lower". We have no clue what the meant. I ordered the other one with the different part number from what I previously provided. Interestingly, it was CHEAPER at the dealer than Pelican... I'll report tomorrow if the part is correct.

Mine actually had the pump. I just didn't have it in the pic since I was cleaning it. However, this pump you sent me the link to is a darn good buy for $23!!

So I go to the dealer and got the "4" part. Although it carries a different part number, when set next to the one I already have, it looks like the same exact part! So what gives?

Can anyone please post a high-res shot of the "C4S" badging so that I can show it to the dealer?

Thanks!

All it is missing is the Aero Kit.

Very, very nice.

Why are the rear bumpers black? I thought those were color coded to the car?

What dealer is that? Looks like a 964 in the back ground.
