Default Window drop when opening

Just got my '01 Cab. When I was opening door at first, the window catches the cab top. After reading this post, I started thinking...

When getting into the car, if you hold the door handle up for a 1/2 second, the window will drop and no longer catch the lip of the cab top.

I was wondering what to do with the manual and saw the tip about the holder. The previous owner took it off. May have to see about finding one on line.

Great post!!! Learning a lot here.

Cool

PSUBOY posted this on another thread within this forum but I wanted to make certain it was posted here, as well, for future access:

I just found a great site that spits out all the options on my car.
You just plug in your vin and it pulls the codes.
Worked like a charm for me. I thought I would share.

The center console glove box at least on the 1999 C2 I have is connected to the alarm system. Somebody once said it isn't but after leaving a drink in it while going into a store and setting the alarm I got the beep meanig foul play while arming the system. The box is wired in.

You may also need to run the windows all the way up and all the way down to reset the one-touch up and down function.

Run the window up and hold it in the close position for around 3-5 seconds then its set. The sunroof has to be reset also.

Ah, I thought you had to do both directions (and I neglected to mention holding it the 3-5 seconds, oops). But I've never had to do anything with the sunroof when switching out batteries.

Are the 05 996 engines less likely to suffer RMS/IMS failures?

Yes. 3.6L are supposed to be less susceptable to IMS failures.

................. sorry!

My P-car is a 2001 Cabriolet. It's a 996 with a factory hard top. Priscilla, my P-car, is Mediterranean Silver.

Since I can not find a cup holder, I no longer stop at Starbucks on my way to work. The Starbucks folks are very concerned about my absence and considering a substantial discount to those not having cup holders; ........... they miss me a lot!!

Yes, I know but ........................ I'd sure would like to find the "ghost cup holders".

BTW, this is a wonderful thread and a wonderful forum. I've already saved thousands by paying close attention to your wonderful contributions.

I feel your pain! I have to have my Starbucks coffee but I was scared that the slide out holder on my '03 would lead to lots of dripping into my center console. I picked up the item below and it works perfectly. It does encroach on the passenger seat a bit but my size 6 bride (of 20 years!) doesn't complain as long as she can have her large sweet tea from Wendy's.
