Questions on Aero kit decklid

I finally managed to find a decent rear wing to complete my kit. Two quick questions:
1) For those that installed the gurney flap, and had it painted to match, did you have it painted before or after installation? This wing already has one installed and I'm trying to decide if it's worth removing prior to repainting.
2) If I remove the emblem from my stock rear decklid, can it be reused? What adhesive is recommended?
Thanks!
Shawn

I did not remove my gurney flap for painting and have had no problems - a good paint shop will do a good job.
As for the emblem - I just bought a new one - they're not that expensive, so it was better for me just to remove the old one and put a new one in it's place rather than having to worry about the durability of replacement emblem tape.

My C4S just got a repaint. Although I wasn't there, I saw that the shop had taken some sort of tape, put it over the top of the emblem and somehow took it off the decklid. Maybe with dental floss piano wire? Anyway, looked like a good idea as it is back on and looks like a normal factory deal. All the spacing is correct, etc.

I'll save the pictures until it's installed and looking good!
I was debating on buying one from LA Dismantlers and was going back and forth based on the mixed reviews. Someone else bought that one and this one was posted the next day for ~$400 less. Patience paid off!
I've got it dissambled and I'm going to try to get it to the paint shop tomorrow.

Mk1? excellent... they are hard to find!
1. had mine painted seperately since they are diff colors... I had mine g-lip painted semi-gloss black
2. I wouldnt re-use, they are cheap anyway. Going with carrera or 911?

I'm still debating the 911 vs. Carrera situation...I'm leaning towards just staying stock. I have a C4 so I'll probably go with the standard silver "Carrera 4".
Agreed on the hard to find comment. I've been looking casually for about a year. After all that looking I had a good feeling for what market value was and what to look for in terms of making sure it was OEM. I pulled a "buy it now" the day it was posted. I've already had to send one back when it turned out to be knockoff so getting a nice OEM piece in good shape for a reasonable price really made my day.
