Default Another CEL

Driving back from MKE to Indy yesterday. CEL comes on while driving. Checked the gas and oil fill caps thinking they were loose. Tight as a drum. To add a twist, I locked the car this morning at work with the remote. The doors locked but than the horn beeped seconds later. The horn has never done that before.

Are these issues connected?

Looking for some help or ideas.

The horn beep just means that something is not secure, center console lid could be open or the trunk, door..engine lid...etc

Should have thought about that....my wife took something out of the trunk last nite.

Any idea how much a decoder costs? Should be able to find on Ebay? Yes?

I have had issues with the CEL prior. Last time it actually was the oil fill cap o-ring. it was a vacuum leak.

You can also get an ODBII reader lent to you from Autozone for free. You have to leave a CC# as a deposit to keep you from running off with it, but you can scan your car, do what you need to do, and bring it back. Not a bad deal.

But, I'd get one if I were you. Very handy for folks that like to tinker on their cars.

Starting the car this morning the CEL did not go on. Didn't do anything different. Can the CEL clear itself?
