Default Question about white paint

Hi everyone! Has anyone with Carrara white or any white paint ever experienced any discoloring or slight paint fading in your car's rear or front bumpers over time as your car gets old?

That's great to know! Oh I actually don't have a Porsche yet, though I plan to buy one soon and it probably will be a white one. I am just asking out of curiousity and want to know if Porsche cars do have this kind of problem. I have a friend with a white 2006 bmw 5 series that had some paint fade in the bumpers.

It probably doesnt apply to the water cooled cars but the right front fender on my 964 is slightly discolored I assume from years of hot oil running by it. My engine hood also has gotten a slight color change. The car isnt real high mileage (75K) and garaged. Wax makes it pretty much unnoticeable.

I would still be looking for a car if I only wanted one color, along with all the other stuff I needed. Are you holding out for white because they have the fastest engines?

No discoloration yet (except when I go really fast and hit a lot of bugs!)

This is a ridiculous question. If these cars reside in Texas and aren't garaged you can bet that they will suffer paint deterioration,--and fade. If they are garage-queens they will suffer little. When you ask a question like this it needs to be in perspective. If you're hunting for a car near you (wherever that may be) vice bringing in one from Florida,--there is a big difference.

I will surely be keeping it in the garage since it's gonna be my first P car.It will be used moderately though. But I guess having a garage and regular waxing will at least prevent the paint from discoloration.

I have a Carrara White car. A 2006. Looks better than new. White P-cars look great! Plus, the most senior techs do the final assemby on all the Carrara White ones.

My car is sometimes outside when i take it to work, but I do cover it with the silver Porsche cover. Now my Volvo (which I brought from California) has set in the hot Texas sun for four years during the day while I am at work, and I haven't noticed any paint fading. It all depends on how you take care of your car.
