Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix-up or modify the back of a C4 to accomodate a large dog? So, my dog is my passenger and we decided that he is not comfortable in the passenger seat. He likes the view, and the window down.....but, we decided that the back seat is safer and better for him. The trouble is, Dillon (a 120lb Pyrenese) is uncomfortable with the huge hump between the two back seats. What I thought was maybe some foam cut to put into the seats to make the hump less intrusive....or a couple more back seat cushions, or......anybody?

Your dog is bigger but my 2 German short haired pointers squeeze their butts back there
If I only have one I fold the seats down

Nice to see your dog is part of the family and you take him with you, some people ate hottofied I put my boys in there

How do you keep your dog's nails from scratching the seats? I used to take mine for rides in my 944 but he scratched the seats up at times so he hasn't been in the 996 yet. I tried boots for him but they come off when he gets excited!

Yeah Marc, he gets to go, too. I came out of a store yesterday and he was sitting proudly behind the wheel....about the size of a human...too funny. I moved him over, told him he was too young to drive.

Yeah, I don't know about the nails, not a problem right now, but, WTF, it's my car and "Oh Well"! (I say that now, I don't know what I'll say when there is a puncture.)

If your dog weighs 120lbs might not hurt him to get some exercise... Just saying.

well I agree 100% here... but thats 180 degrees off on the dog part... see... Its MY car and the dog can stay home -

That said we have a suburban for the dogs and kids and stuff......My dog slobbers SO much that the car is litterally soaking wet when he gets out.... NO WAY he's gettin in the Pcar

Here's how we set out in the Cab. The seat back is down, an old bath mat over it for the dog to sit on, and a short leash is looped through the seat belt. I want to get an action shot from outside the car with her nose into the wind and coonhound ears flying -- she loves riding in the P-car as much as my daughter!

I simply fold both of the back seats down and my 100# yellow lab lounges on top. He sheds like crazy so we usually place his blanket down and tuck it in for the ride. Depending on the drive, sometimes we'll throw a leash on him for his safety. He loves riding in the P-car w/ the top down!

I throw a blanket down, their nails are pretty dull because they go for walks with me every night and the concrete sidewalks wear the nails down

Only issues I ever have is some hair and drool, both easily removed.
If we are going to the park or someplace where they may get really messy than I take the Allroad or Saab

some people just dont get how easy it is to "trim" those nails


A brisk run while on a leash and my on a bike pedaling as fast as I can for a few blocks and that $20 manacure is looking like pretty dumb idea!

When I had my Boxster I used to get amused looks, blasting around with one of my Pointers in the passenger seat

Yea, Too Cool. You can see Ikey, Stinkey, Dirty Dillon Dawg (Dillon for short) in the back of my E36 Beemer. He liked that car! But, we moved here to the Tundra (from FL) and moved up to a C4S. He's not likin' it so much. But, hardship is the pathway to peace I says to him (always better to be the sayer on that slogan) and buck the fu*k up...Cowboy!

I digress.

I'm thinking maybe some foam from "Joannes Fabric" to build up the back "buckets" maybe some styrofoam, maybe a little step, too?
