Hey guys,
I've got an 04 996 c2, and I wanted to upgrade my exhaust. My local porsche dealership says its inadvisable to change the exhaust because the engine operates at such high compression. However, my experience with porsche leads me to believe that this is a bunch of nonsense, since they wont even change my tires if they are a different rating.
The other day I ran into someone who had the same model porsche as me, and he had replaced the stock exhaust with that from a 996 tt. It sounded great, and I think that's the way I want to go. Do you think this would be a feasible/compatible switch? Also, I would like any other suggestions on exhaust systems so I can check those out.
Thanks

On a non-turbo 996 the exhaust change will do nothing more than change the exahust sound - 1-2 RWHP at most.

I assume this "guy" put the exhaust from a 997 TT onto a 996 TT?
because a TT exhaust is nothing like a N/A exhaust.

I'm not sure whether the exhaust was from a 996 or a 997 tt. and im also not looking for a performance boost, just want a deeper/louder exhaust note. I've also heard that fabspeed was good as well.
