I also owned a 79SC for 4 years...it was a wonderful car to drive and own. Did you like one of your SCs better than the other Marlon?

+1 for ditch the badge.

VF engineering sells SC kits, I believe. I think they run 8-10 grand.

Are you guys advising ditching all badging on the rear deck or just that one? How do you get the Carrera badges off?

Some guys use a hair drier to soften adhesive on badge, some use fishline to lift badge...mine came off when I was hand buffing my 99, and the towel caught the corner of the Carrera badge and broke it, so I removed it for now.

Just that one, since the car is not a GT3.

Hairdryer and wax dental floss works well. Then carefully rub off the adhesive.

+1 on losing the badge. It's tacky to have a badge on there saying it's a GT3 when it's clearly not.

I used dental floss and rubbing alcohol to take my Carrera badge off.

Welcome to Rennlist!!! Great looking car....the aero package really make the MK1 cars stand out. The wheels finish the look, nicely.

Nice looking ride. Congrats.

GT3 she is not, so the badge is a little poser. But if it floats your boat, leave it. You'll need to paint the calipers red and also lose the sunroof and rear seats to pull it off.

To be quite honest, I didn't realize it while I owned the car, but I liked the Brown '79 best of all. VERY simple car, but fun as crap to drive I even admit that I liked the 15" Fuchs - very comfy ride too on the 'balloon' tires...

Nice, I think it could use some wheel spacers. 15MM in the back and 7MM in the front will do nicely. This will fill out the wheel wells. It's a fairly inexpensive mod with dramatic results. Especially since it appears to be lowered
