Default oversteer screeching noise

Can you tell me if the power steering makes a screeching/whistling noise when you overturn the wheels? I just recently noticed this after owning the car for about 4 years and just want to check if that's normal. Thanks!

Mine doesn't. Have you checked your fluid level?

Are you certain it isn't rubbing of some sort, or a worn bushing maybe?

....oops thought this thread would be about tires screetching when you're sliding (oversteering).

Yeah, i'd first check the fluid.

Normally, it's the rear tires that screech when you oversteer, not the power steering.

Edit: argh, beat! serves me right for walking away before hitting the post button, lol. and yeah, fluid.

I admit, I was expecting a slightly different thread too when I saw oversteer...
