Waterpump residue normal?
Water pump was replace about 40k ago, replaced it with factory Porsche part. Recently I noticed dried white coolant residue around the water pump area, there are no visible wet spots or running leaks, just dried residue. Wonder if this was normal? Or is my water pump going again?

One of my old boss' car had an overheating problem but the mechanics could not find the issue. The water pump too had coolant residue. They pressure tested and checked eveything without finding the root issue.
To find the source of the problem all I did was goose the throttle at a high rpm and wahhlaa...the water pump started leaking. I would clean the area of the residue and if 'new' residue forms then you know there is a potential issue.
