Question Front end clunk, springs, JIC

My car has suddenly developed a clunking noise in the front on both sides.
It's easily reproducible just by turning the wheel left and right while standing still.
I hear a clunk from the top of the coil overs on both sides, sounds like a spring.
What can I do to get rid of it?
(I have JIC/Cross FLT-TAR suspension).

It's likely just the springs turning on the coilovers. Over time this motion binds a little and causes some noise. It's likely not a "problem" if that's the only time you're hearing it (sitting still or slow speed only when turning the wheel).

You can get thrush bearings (I think that's what they're called.) for the top and bottom mounting points on the springs to stop the noise / binding.

thrust bearings

springs are probably not pre-loaded enough?

Could it be that the springs are now "worn in" and I need to tighten the pre-loading?
I can always install thrust bearings of course.
Any tips on where to buy them?

I doubt you need to adjust your pre-load. I think it's more just a situation of getting everything worn in a bit and parts not moving as well against each other as they used to. All 3 of my cars with coilovers do it eventually.

Check around with race shops for the bearings. I think JIC uses a funny diameter spring (60mm?) and most of the time i've seen the bearing in a more common 2.25" or 2.5" diameter. I'm sure one of them is close enough to work though.
