Repaint Door Compartment ****, but how to take the **** off the lid?
I have taken the lid off and now I want to remove the silver **** (or whatever it's called). But, I can't seem to push/pull it off. I tried to use pliers but I don't want to get too aggressive. Any suggestions?
And she'd be really happy to get a quick response. So would I.

If you can get her to take hers off, I'll tell you how to take that off.......

Those look like clips on the inside cover, can't you like squeeze/undo/unclip them?

Just pull on the two things that are sticking out. However, I don't know what you need to do to remove the silver part from the arm rest!
