I also think the car looks pretty good, don't like the wheels though. Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for it. But, someone else might, you never know.

Like I said in the other thread, bunch of haters here.

^^^ Because we don't like it and say so that makes us haters? We'll have to agree to disagree.

Haters of bad taste.

When you're against bad, doesn't that make you good? Using hater as a standalone adjective is pointless.

Hate baby abattoirs? Hate cockroaches for breakfast? Hate farm animal concubines? So you're NOT a hater?

NO...that's not what I said. You can like it or not like it, and say so openly, but with some respect. Don't have to trash someone just coz' they did some mod to their car that doesn't suit your personal taste.

I can understand that some mods can look really bad and deserve some thrashing, but come on, this particular one can't be that bad even if you don't like it.

Btw, I do not know any of those owners, and have no affiliation with them. Not that I'm standing up for anyone in particular.

Exactly! But what I'm talking about is Hating for no reason, or perhaps out of jealousy, or envy??

So people expressing their opinion are haters? usually expressed through humor or exaggeration around here.

What you have here are allot of "Porsche purists" around here who aren't really into the "pimp my ride" mods and making are car something that it is not. If we are haters so be it.

I dont "hate" the car or the owner but it's not even close to my taste.

I bet if the owner of that car joined the forum and asked for tech help there is probably not one of us who would not be happy to help.

asked for tech help
That's certainly part of it. But would someone who takes a car to a north jersey chop shop, says, "here's my tacky vision and my credit card (or my seven years of quik-e-mart paychecks)" ever come looking for tech help?

Rennlist certainly has its share of credit card enthusiasts, and I concede there is a double standard: If a guy wants to pay Ruf five zillion dollars plus a 300% markup to get a Ruf branded conversion, we heap praise on him.

From my personal perspective, I give a lot more credit for grassroots authenticity. Got your English Wheel and welder and building a Frankenstein custom in your garage--more power to you. Make it work and do it yourself and your commitment makes up for just about anything else. (of course, then you'd be posting on Pelican)

But take your car to "Pimp My Ride"? Please.

Marc, No, that is not what I mean. Refer to my other post to your similar comment: HERE

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Do you know him? How do you classify him with "quik-e-mart paychecks"? How do you know he doesn't make bigger pay checks than yourself? How do you know he's not better than you in many ways? Why are you putting him down just becoz' you don't like his taste in modding cars?

That is all I'm gonna say. I'm not gonna go on debating or arguing about this, it's a waste of our time. Just do whatever you all think is right. Again...CHEERS!

I would think Rennlist is more than a "showboater forum" like the car pointed out in this thread. In my opinion, "Rennies" don't mod beyond simple carbon fiber, gauge rings, blah blah. I like this forum becuase it's about performance, not max HP or LED's or pointless ducting.

I think Rennlist is similar to the Porsche goal, "simplicity, efficiency, and engineering"

Kinda like F1 vs. Drifting.

And in all honesty, I wish I bought a 993 so that I wouldn't have to deal with some of this "hater-ade" $hit. Why can't they leave something that's good alone?
