Default Sprint power booster installed - +1 for sure

I ordered mine last week, the part arrived late yesterday and I installed it this morning. Total installation took less than 45 minutes, couple of notes:
-only a single philips screw needed to be removed to mobilize the HVAC vent
-the most challenging part was separating the stock connector, and inserting a large flathead screwdriver in the connector really simplified the disassembly
-inserting the SPB was much easier, and I was able to insert the modified connector into the stock mounting bracket w/o issue

I've taken a test drive and my initial impressions are: WOW! I really didn't expect such a noticeable improvement - it's the second best mod I've done yet next to my sport suspension upgrade. Car is an '02 C4 cab w/ Tip.

I can't possibly imagine sending it back for a refund at this point.

The throttle reponsiveness has considerably improved, and it's almost as if the TCU was reprogrammed as well, as downshifts happen easier and sooner. The quality of the driving experience has definitely increased for me.

I dont really notice much of an issue.

Makes it more difficult to modulate throttle at the track

yeah, it's like Sport mode in the E46 M3 and the infamous "bucking bronco" effect.

For a tip-based 996, it sure awakens it and makes it feel more responsive and connected. I can't comment on track applications or w/ a 6-speed. My S8's have S mode tranny and while this feels similar it has a different feel to it. If anyone in CO wants to test drive to compare, let me know!

^^^ I was going to say this sounds like the ‘S’ mode in my DD Tip B6 S4 Avant. It may not put any more power to the ground, but for a tip, it’s like a Jekyll and Hyde experience. Throttle response is exponentially higher, the shifts feel faster, and it utilizes the V8 to its potential; read: it goes like stink. I wouldn’t want that drive mode all of the time though, even for a weekend car.

I find that if I am not aggressive on the pedal it feels more docile, sort of like it did before the SB went in. You notice the most 'zoom factor' if you are more agressive on the pedal. The company also makes a Racing version of the SB - but my thought is that the verison I installed is perfectly fine for street use. I am running a Tip though, and maybe the performance result with a manual will manifest much differently, but my inkling is that a SB with a manual would be killer.

And - to beat a dead horse -you can send it back if you don;t like it.

No affiliation, just a delighted customer. I wish someone would try it on a 6-speed and report back. You'll notice the difference right away - it should either be good or bad.
