Default 996 transmission

I checked the manual transmission oil level on my MY99 996 c2 with 58K miles this past weekend. When I loosened the fill plug, I was suprised to hear the sound of pressurized air escaping. The car was cool, and it was in the cool of the morning so I am baffled to why this happened. Car and transimission run great, just doing some maintenance checks. Any ideas why the transmission would be pressurized?
Cheers !!

Your vent is somehow plugged would be my guess. Take a look and see if there is any build up in it.

Hope that this helps some.

It should be on the top area of the gearbox, you might not be able to see it come to think of it. It is just behind the bellhousing. It should have a plastic cap on it.
