Matching carpet?

Matching carpet?
I've got a small wear spot near the dead pedal that I'd like to repair in my '01 C4. As a last resort I might cut a small piece of carpet from an unseen location (under seats), but has anyone found a source of matching carpet (black) that I could us to patch the area instead?
Thanks,
Shawn

interesting
since I have not looked, cant the hole front carpet be replace fairly easy?? (if you found a good condition pre-owned one?) I see the race guys tear these out and sell the whole thing on ebay for cheap..(relatively)

wrong color, but looks in great shape
if you have time to wait for the deal and a good one to be offered. I am not 100% sure but I think the GT2/GT3 carpets will also fit...
repair sounds tricky as i think its foam backed? might not look too good, then again.....maybe you know how

Thanks for the suggestions.
A) The rest of my carpet is in such good shape I didn't really consider swapping it all out. I guess if I found it for a good price this makes sense.
B) I think the floor mat material is a little too thick in comparison.
C) The area under the carpet is already black so it blends pretty decently as is. Otherwise I would have fixed it a long time ago. I just have some free time now (thanks economy!) so I figured I'd knock out these projects.
It seems like most people haven't found carpet alternatives...what about the carpet used to cover speaker enclosures. Is that a pretty close match? Where do people purchase that?

Oh right, I've got your meaning now. Unfortunately this spot is a little above where the floormats go. The carpet under the mats in in great condition. It looks like the previous owner used this spot to rest their left foot instead of the dead pedal. It's just under the fuse box cover.
I have floor mats that are made of carpet and are the exact color as the actual floor. I keep my mats in place all the time since they look like carpet anyway. My previous suggestion was to put new mats in front and back. If they match the rest of the floor, it shouldn't matter if it's worn underneath. (Who is going to see it?) Also, in the future, you'll only wear out the mats which are easily replaceable.
