I wonder what a pristine 2004, nicely equipped 4S with 3400 miles would go for? Lots more than $35K I suspect. Yes, these cars have dropped in price, but for a perfect, virtually new car, I believe mine would fetch in the mid-high $40's.

I just spent about a week and a half (yes, that's all) watching autotrader.com and cars.com like a hawk, and lowballed every seller until I got one who was willing to deal. It's a fantastic time for buying a "toy car" right now, lots of people are selling them due to the economy.

Based on what I've seen recently, I'd say you're right. You can get cars under 40k miles in the low-mid 30's if you look and deal, or high mile cars in the very high 20's and low 30's.

Hmm, high 40's... that's getting into Turbo territory

Agree - at this point high $40's is Turbo territory. But, I don't know how many of them are out there with such low miles.

Just a quick look on Ebay & there's a high mileage 02 C4S for under 28K, most are shown 40-50K mileage with "buy it now or offers" in the low to mid-30's.

Just waiting for the right color. Problem is, I don't know what that is.....

Boring. It's Cobalt Blue, if that's what mine really is called (I think it is).

i got a 2002 c4s about 8 weeks ago. it is a great car. i would recommend HIGHLY a PPI at a reputable dealer/shop.
i flushed all fluids, and did some quick repairs.
i would i put on the mod list a short shifter kit, aluminum pedals and other bits and pieces.
then take it to a Drivers Ed event and really begin to appreicate it.
hint, brakes stop on a dime and give you change, at life becomes hectic over 5500 rpm
