Default How to paint & install aerokit II?

I want to install the 2002+ OEM Aerokit II front bumper cover and side skirts. How hard is it to DIY install? I've taken off the stock front bumper cover a bunch of times without problems. Do the Aerokit parts just reuse all the same mounting points?

Also, how to get it all painted? Do I mount all the parts and leave the whole car with body shop, or do I just give them the parts to paint and then mount them all up back in my own garage? Is it possible to buy prepainted body parts?

I would get a reputable paint shop... it will prob cost around 700-800. If its OEM it will fit perfect and you wont need to fit prior painting (give them the parts). Putting it on is def a DIY!

Side skirts are easy to install? How? (Tape, glue, screws?)

+1 on the reputable paint shop and DIY. The only parts that I had a hesitation with were the side skirts and that was not due to complexity, but fear over getting the placement wrong.

Side skirt install works best if you have the factory aerokit install instructions. PM me if you need a copy. There are some blocks that you need to make in order the get the 3M tape to bond correctly. Front bumper no problem.
Paint is a bit subjective. Some people don't see and never will see the flaws with a cheap or mid range paint job. Some people do. A good paint job can be expensive and partially depends on the color.
I have seen some vendors offer pre painting. DPS for one, but do some searching. I think it was Wayne that had a less than stellar experience with them.

Yeah, once we finally got Wayne to understand that the side skirts went below the doors and not below the windows, everything went smoothly for him.

Yeah, I didn't do so well with the paint that came from DPS. It was brittle and cracked/chipped easily (thankfully their paint is no longer on my car). I'm not even sure if they're still in business, as their website has been down for a while.

What I didn't realize was that I could have gotten a far superior job by taking the unfinished part directly to my Porsche dealer and having them to do the paint - it would have cost only slightly more.

Hey, the tough bit is aligning everything so that you get the tape to stick in the right place when you push it in place. The tape is very good and I was afraid of getting the alignment wrong when I pressed the part against the sills.
