Default Clutch pedal

Hi folks,

I just had my clutch, throw out bearing, pressure plate and fly wheel replaced. However, my clutch pedal is really high and much stiffer than I would expect.

Could this be a problem with the master cylinder or something else?

Thanks!
Rob

the pedal is high?
The engagment is high? Or the pedal itself.
If the pedal is hard you may need to replace your boost spring.

I think the pedal is riding high.... and it's harder to engage than normal.

I would take a look at the boost spring, lay on your back under the drivers side, depress the clutch pedal with your right hand hold a flash light with the left you will see a small cylinder (1.5 inch by inch rigth above you attached thethe clutch pedal assy, You should see a blue sping, at this point use your left hand to touch the spring, you can tell when they are broken.

FYI, when my clutch was redone this year the pedal seemed a little higher (actually reset the seat a touch to compensate) but the action was not stiffer.

Hey Rob, there are plenty who would offer you their spring.

It is unlikely to be the spring since it was not touched. It also has no effect on how high the pedal is or the point of clutch engagement.

I would bet that the stiffer pressure plate is just confusing your regular "feel" of the clutch and the older boost spring. Similar to how you know when you go into a room but can't remember what you went in for? Same ****.

It's also how dogs feel all the time.

Being higher? I don't know about that part.

Being high makes you forget which room you went into and why...... right?

I'm sorry, but I found this comment hilarious! Though I doubt I will be laughing as hard 20+ years down the line if I find myself in that position under the dash. Glad you made it out.

I would suggest to stop wearing those platform shoes.... it is also very hard to heal and toe with those.

But they are great for improving your heal-and-toe technique!
