I dont mind about the temp being there, I just wanted to make sure it's correct. I never plan to really track the car - I may do a DE or an AutoX at some point. The manual is just so far away in the glove box that I figured I'd ask here instead

I am scared of the new "search" function. What if I never come back?

FWIW, My needle does not go past the right side of "0" during our Northeast Summer days during stop and go traffic with AC. It did before I cleaned the radiators. My fan kicks in when the needle is on the right side of the "0."

Example of the crap that gets into the radiators.

Just leave a trail of bread crumbs (or RMS oil drippings) behind you and you'll be fine!

When your needle is at the right side of the 0 in 180 your coolant temperature is around 215F which is when the high speed fans are programmed to turn on.

Your car will be fine. I drove my car around without problems for over a year before I figured out that one of the radiator fans was only operating on "low".

Cleaning the Radiators

As Tim linked, it's a really good idea to clean these out on any used car. (mine were filthy!)

+1 Mine is the same way. Even with AC off in 90 degree weather high speed fans don't kick in until the need hits the top right corner of the "0" (in stop and go traffic). Then it cools back down. I did just clean out my radiators a month ago.

+1 - a lot of sand in mine, along with the normal debris...

I too have not tried the new search function, a bit afraid it might might launch me into the twilight zone
