That sucks, especially if you know who did it. Ask her about it and give her a chance to fess up.

About 10 years ago I parked my car at the airport. When I came out there was this 740IL parked at an angle next to me with his paint all down the side of my car with a huge crease and my paint all over his front bumper. I called the airport security and they took pictures and my statement. A week or so later I called the airport and they said Mr 740 denied it all and since there were no witnesses I was SOL. About six months later I saw the SOB driving on my way to work so I followed him to his office garage, waited for him to go inside and keyed his car. What goes around comes around, that's my perspective.

Ed - really sucks. Sorry that had to happen. The good side is that you get to either have your bumper cover (and all it's imperfections) redone, or replaced with something you like better. Good luck!

Thanks guys, I sent her an email (very nice and NOT accusing...) asking if by chance she had a new black mark on her car (now if my email isn't blocked by some stupid spam filter - I thought a subject line of "ViAgRa FoR $4.98/dOSe" was smart to get right on past it though.....)

HAHAHAHA j/k

Don't be surprised if she says "Good thing you contacted me about that new paint streak on my car." "You could have fessed up when you did it." Where do I send the bill for my repaint + subsequent devaluation to my GT3?

Yeah, that thought crossed my mind too.

That paint mark looks to me like you may have hit something without realizing it. It's a bit too low to be done by another car. Just pointing out an observation. I'd touch it up if that were my car.

Cheers, Ed, it'll be all right.

If nothing else, on the next autocross you can just go ballistic on some cones.

I went to Home Depot today and I was feeling paranoid as a pick-up drove out from the spot next to me.... had to immediately check that side for dings.

the LOW paint removal was my doing on a curb almost a year ago.. the "new" mark is right in the front right below the headlight and had white paint on it (the pic is after I tried to rub it out)

I got a reply from the person, she says her car shows no sign of any marks at all...and asked to help "do what's right" in the event she had inadvertantly caused some damage....thats good an bad... good that I feel better knowing someone I respect stood up and said OK lets do whats right,... bad is I dont think she was involved and now its just me and the issue (again this is good too when you consider some of the other ideas that were presented)

SOOOOO - big ole sign of disapointment and relief - it is what it is

I came down from Vancouver Island last year for a Drivers Skills event in Bremerton and had a brief conversation with a woman who had a white GT3 (extremely jealous of her car) that she stated was mostly used for track events and autocross. She seemed quite straightforward in her conversations with me. I kind of had the feeling that she would be responsible enough to "own up" if she had caused the damage.

At the event I attended last year parking and entering the track was fairly straight forward. Cars were parked with lots of room to spare. It would be pretty hard to damage another car while moving a car from the parking area into position on the tarmac, but certainly posisible.

Hope all ends up well.

Hey, what month... I think I talked to you at that event, I remember talking to someone who came down from there.

Yes the "normal parking" is up along the main raod by the clubhouse... I however was parked out along side of the slalom start line up and the cars where one in front of the other...just to clear up how I thought it could happen.

Yes, that is the same person, there is only one and she is amazing. Like I said I respect her not just for driving but have seen her around at many events. Very straightforward and she did offer to "make it right" but with no evidence on her car, its sort of hard to point the finger and accuse anyone too.... I surely dont want to have this end up getting back to her as "ther is a guy on rennlist that says you ......." you know. She isnt the one.

Yeah, pretty hard to be that upset about the new mark, when the old ones are so much worse. As long as the polyurethane isn't damaged, a good repaint should fix that right up. Stuff like this is where I think it will be worth getting a clear bra installed over my new bumper cover.

I believe it was July when I was there. After seeing your description of where you parked I could easily see the car being damaged if one were not careful.

I had several conversations with the owner of a black 996 and I am assuming it was you. My sister actually got video of both of us driving and if you are the same person, we said we would send you the video in an email. Un fortunately my wife somehow deleted the entire recording before we even left the track.

If I come down for another Drivers Skills program I won't mention the incident to the woman involved. I might ask to drive her car though.
