a rear seat delete kit for my 04 C2. I know it was an option on the C2 and was standard on the GT3/GT2. I can't for the life of me find the part number.
Anyone have this on their car. Seems to be the way to go if you have no need at all for the rear seats.

No such option.
Folks just removed the rear seats and used the small parts from the Tequiment Rollbar kit to hide the seat hardware.
The kit part number is: 000 044 801 63. It is a kit that normally comes with the Porsche Tequipment Sport Roll Bar to cover up holes after you've removed the seats to install the bar. It includes a couple of nicely made silver painted caps, two large vinyl covered plugs, and a mini version of the pin that secures the center of the seatbacks so that you can reinstall the cap over the center mounting point.
Back in 2000 it was $55 now it is $187!

I removed my rear seats last year and have lived without 'dressing' up the exposed attatchment points, and honestly I don't even notice it anymore. Simple to do or redo if you change your mind or sell it. As usual...Loren always seems to know.(nice job)

Loren, I am sure you are correct in what most have done, but this was an option for the 996
Option IXSN. Deletion of Rear Seats.
So if there was an option to not have them, they had to have had something to put in their place...right?

You can use the GT3 carpet pieces I think. I have been researching this recently myself. I have a p/n, but can't find it right now; will post it up when I get home; ~$650, from Germany
p.147 of the 996 GT3 catalog; link
996 551 021 90
Loren's options sounds pretty good too.

Yep, that is the one. $650 is a bit much for a piece of carpet tho'.
DC Automotive has one for $350. Tempting. But first I am going to stop by the Auto upholstery shop in town and see what the would charge me. Something tells me it will be less than $350.

I don't think the wife would sit for a roll cage. No matter how I sold the "enhanced safety".
The GMG. The Carbon fiber 5k roll bar?
For 5k I would do the big brake kit first. That way there would be less chance of me NEEDING the cage.
