Default The C2 questions.

Interested in a 3.4l c2 6sp
Three questions.

1) What is the stated MPG? What is actual MPG?

2) What are the options for tuning the ECU.

3) Are there any ducktailsl available for the 996 other than the one from the Ruf RGT. How much is the RUF ducktail available for? (without the larger add on spoiler)

Well, I guess that's technically 5 questions.

IN THIS CAR IT DOESN'T MATTER

2) What are the options for tuning the ECU.

THERE ARE LOTS. THEY ALL RUN AROUND A GRAND. MANY WOULD ARGUE THAT ALL IT DOES IS CHANGE YOUR PEDAL RESPONSE AND DECREASE MILEAGE

3) Are there any ducktailsl available for the 996 other than the one from the Ruf RGT. How much is the RUF ducktail available for? (without the larger add on spoiler)

THERE ARE PLENTY OF OPTIONS. I'M GUESSING THAT IT RUNS FROM $1500 TO $3G AVG. CHECK OUT MA SHAW ON THE TOP OF THE PAGE FOR A FEW IDEAS.

I get around 22-23mpg when I'm doing about 80mph. I get about 18mpg with combination city/highway and somewhat aggressive driving. It'll get easily over 25mpg if you're going the speed limit.

When I drive like a little old lady I can manage about 18mpg city, otherwise 12-14 is my norm. Like Medtech states, mileage is a non factor in this type of vehicle.

The 3.4 had 28 mpg highway rating when it came out, pretty amazing, but you've gotta drive it steady to get that, no spurts to 120, ha.

But yeah, I think you need to come up with 3 better questions.

Yeah - it's pretty crazy to know that you haven't even used up all of 4th gear at this point, and 2 more gears to go..

Many times when the road opens up for me, I'll blast off and run through the gears, and am always amazed at how it can push me in my seat - even in the triple digits. This thing is a highway monster.

I got 28 on the highway driving it back from NC when I bought it. This was a constant 65-70mph and I got 28.4 mpg on the read-out. With me driving medium (some quick starts and some normal driving) I get about 22.7 according to the readout.

Not bad considering the kind of performance this car offers,

Mine averages 18.5. If you want mega-fuel economy, get a Toyota Pious.

Better questions like... what oil to use... how long do the 996 engines last, etc, etc.

'99 C2 no engine/exhaust mods gives me 18.7-19.0 mpg as a DD, with relatively "spirited" driving/passing and no cruise control. My max was driving 400 miles down from Oregon I managed to get 24mpg but that includes some 140mph spikes mixed with cruise control at 70mph.
