Depends on several factors. If it is enclosed or not, on top or bottom of a standard trailer, distance, if they can move anything else the same route, timing, etc. I think I paid around 850-900 to have a car shipped from Miami area to SE Michigan 2 yrs ago. Mine was uncovered, but I paid an extra 50 to have it on top (did not want a leaker above my cab).

In 06 I had my 1973 914 shipped from San Diego to Columbus, Ohio- cost me 550 (non-enclosed). I was told it would take 14 days. Was quite surprised when it showed up in 3 days! I shipped with DAS, they were great. They were very picky about which cars they would allow to be shipped in a non-enclosed truck. They told me that they require all Porsche's to be shipped in an enclosed truck (I guess they are like many and don't consider 914's to be Porsches). It would have cost about 1800 enclosed.

You can probably get a quote from the guys who advertise in P-car mags. My recent ( in Sep when fuel prices were really high) experience was Denver to Dallas (800 miles) in an enclosed trailer for $750.

When I bought my Targa last December, Reliable Transport hauled it from Detroit, MI to Fort Worth, TX in an enclosed trailer for $975. They picked the car up on a Wednesday evening and delivered the car to me the next Sunday morning.

I highly recommend contacting Bill DeMoise at Demoise Trucking. They transport cars for PCNA, as well as a ton of high end other-marques (Ferrari, Aston, Lambo etc), both new and those lovely priceless concours cars.
They won't be the cheapest, but not nearly as much as a Horseless Carriage et al. THE BEST white glove service I've ever seen, quick, door to door, family run, great, great people to trust your baby to. You'll sleep well, unlike most of the other lower priced offerings.

They did a terrific job transporting my car. They really know Porsches.

Only 2 carriers I would use are Demoise and Intercity. Have had nothing but top notch white-glove type service every time. No worrying about the car while in transport. They own the trucks and do NOT sub out the work.

I actually just got a bunch of quotes yesterday to ship a car from the Los Angeles area to Fort Wayne, Indiana. The lowest I received for an open trailer was $675. The highest for a closed trailer was $1,200.
