To tell you the truth, I generally drive something else when hauling skis! But if you must, what skis do you have that are so long it necessitates a rack? With shaped skis and reduced lengths, you should be able to get them inside with you. Personally, I don't care much for racks anymore because they really add a bunch of wind noise. I simply put my skis and poles in a ski bag and then put them in between the seats with the ends on the floor in front of the passenger seat (if with a passenger). Otherwise, recline the passenger seat.

Hi

you would need the Roof transport system (Cabriolet version) with part number
Part no. 996 801 055 00

and on top you would need the ski rack. It comes into 2 sizes,
- for 4 pairs of skis/2 snowboards part no 955 044 000 23
- for 6 pairs of skis/4 snowboards part no 955 044 000 24

I have a 996 cab and bought both the RTS and ski rack for around 1000CHF (i live in Switzerland). With latest FX its close to 1000$

Hope i helpd

If the person is travellng alone maybe having the top down to insert the skis then putting the top up would work better than using racks. Then the skis are covered by the alarm. There are also fabric strap racks I've seen that I'd never trust unless damaging the roof is no problem. I'd amagine a bit of wind howl would come from the gaps the things create where the window wouldn't seal all the way.
