Default Is it a 996 yet?

OK, so far I've done the simple stuff:
Non-smoker tray
Replace CD holder with cubby
Clear side markers + silver vision
Fancy key thing
Silver hood crest

And these mods are scheduled, pending arrival of parts:
RoW M030 suspension
Front turn signal amberectomy

The PO installed:
AWE Exhaust (go figure)
Aluminum pedals

The question is... what is left before it's an official, honest-to-goodness, Rennlist-endorsed 996?

Pics to follow once it's "done" and I get the urge to wander outside with a camera.

I'd say you're well on your way, especially after a suspension upgrade. Regarding the exhaust, would you prefer a different brand? Your cab looks sharp...I still have amber side markers and think they conrast well with my black coupe.

Aluminum Gauge rings
Aluminum pedals
Painted top hats
Calipers painted red (would look awesome against the black color)
Install the Spoiler switch in the center horse shoe
Install the Garage Door Opener (Targa shade switch) switch in the center horse shoe

Thanks! Actually, I love the exhaust -- especially once it heats up. The amber side markers didn't look exactly bad with black, but I have to say the clear are a lot better.

The aluminum gauge rings are definitely a nice idea. I've seen several different choices there and TBH some of them just don't look right. Suggestions for a specific set are welcome!

What are top hats?

I actually really like the silver calipers. The look is very clean, though the red would definitely be very cool. Going to give that some serious consideration.

Excellent suggestions all around!

P.S. Edited the OP because I left out a few things (e.g. aluminum pedals, key mod).

Search IS my friend. Found a nice writeup on the painted top hats. Perhaps during the suspension install...

you will really like the amberectomy too then....since you have the clear rear lights. Thats one of my personal favorite!

Great list... keep going the world needs your money ! LOL

Chris, I assumed that ALL 996's already had the bumper plugs, and the key lock plug.
