I see the infor below has you covered! Did you do the broomstick test with your helmet on?

2. Integral roll bar in the 986 (Boxster) and pop-up roll bar in the 996/997 Cabriolets are acceptable
subject to the two-inch height requirement (see item 3 below). The two inch height requirement
applies without regard to which top is used on the car. In these cars the soft-top must be in the up
position or the hard top installed, unless meeting all requirements for open top cars.

The top of the main hoop must be at least two inches above the occupants’ helmet(s). With the
driver and/or passenger correctly seated and securely belted in the vehicle, occupants helmet must
be at least two inches below a straight line drawn between the top of the windshield and the top of
the roll bar.

Hey, Dutchie - I hope you had a great DE, despite the rainy conditions. Can't wait to hear how it went for you. If you loved it, let us know if you're planning on the First Settlers DE at VIR in May.

Well, where should I start... according to the rain gauge at my house (I'm about 40 miles from the track) we had about 4 inches of rain in the last 36 hours, the temperature today was about 36 degrees with a wind chill in the high twenties/low thirties, wind gusts reaching 30 miles an hour, so all-in-all lovely conditions for my first DE and a weekend at the track, but I had a BLAST!!!

I have a whole new appreciation of how good of a car the 996 really is. The track was great (hopefully I get to drive it sometime when it is dry...). This morning I spent some time on the skid pad... very insightful!

I had a terrific instructor... Bill, thanks so much for all your help, tips, insights and for pushing me hard!! I am sure we will run into each other in the future... I am hooked!

Only took two pics this ... too cold and wet to get the camera out...

Due to the weather conditions, a lot of drivers did not come out today or left early... there were only 5 drivers left in the Green run group at 130PM and only 4 drivers in all the other groups combined

I checked the dates and looks like it is memorial day weekend... won't be able to do that.

However, I did start working the wife yesterday on letting me do the next DE at CMP in May, and guess what I found when I came home... I am a lucky guy!!!

In a way, it's good that your first DE was in the rain. IMO new drivers can learn a ton in the rain, more so than in the dry. I personally love doing DE's when it's raining.

Wouter had a GREAT first event with an impressive amoount of car control. It was easy to get to the limits with the cold and the wet, let me tell you!

Glad you had a great time! My most fun session ever on track (aside form racing) was at CMP in the pouring rain last year. There was only about 6 or 7 cars on track and we had a blast. Really makes you work on car control. I think our times were only about 5-10 seconds a lap slower (depending on level of downpour). We were actually disappointed when the sun came out and the ran stopped

Your limits seemed higher than most this weekend, Bill. Certainly higher than mine on Saturday afternoon!
