Too many ?'s for me to consider this ad.

"little of 1,000 made"? sounds like a real expert.

I love the wide body, but you are probably not going to want to part with the car for the price that I would offer.
Try me. You simply won't find a more perfect example of a well-equipped, essentially stock 996 4S in a great color.

Honestly Phil - High 30's maybe low 40's. I feel that you car is worth more than this price range. My issue is that I do not feel the need to pay a premium for a low mile car.

Ouch. High miles. Not really clean. But still...look at price.

I will keep an eye on it and see where the price ends up.

I have been tracking many 40th cars. This is at least the 3rd time on Ebay. Keeps getting relisted at lower BUY IT NOW prices.

Had "Buy It Now" prices of $31.5k, $29k, & $27K. High bid last time was $19.6 and it did not meet reserve.

This is a very beat up example of a 40th.

Prices on 996's have probably reached bottom or close to it. I figure mid-40's to 50 for the buyer who wants my specific car/colors/options and very low miles. At that price, not worth selling - at least not if I continue to have a job and thankfully am NOT a Madoff investor!!

+1

I could be wrong, but I feel exactly the same way. If were to get into the $40k-$50k price range, I would move into a C2S. Just my personal take on things.

I have been talking to one potential private seller on this board whom has a 2005 C2S 42k miles. He stated that when he puts his car up for sale, he thinks he will be asking $40's.

I do not think that it is all that unrealistic as I have seen 2005 C2's from Porsche dealers in the high 40's for quite some time.

Update OP - Increased Search to C4S's

I have been watching 2 private party C4S's on Ebay with 25k to 35k miles (2002-2003) and the "Buy It Now" prices are mid to high $30k's.

I agree with you. It is a great time to be a buyer. If I had my choice, it would be a 997 C2S. What is holding me back is the heavy price difference between a 996 C2 (low to mid $30k's) and a 997 C2S (high $40k's to Low $50k's). I am talking about $15k to $20k difference in price.

While I do prefer the 997's, I just am not confident that spending +60% more will yield me 60% more fun and enjoyment.
