Took mine off while swapping new mufflers tonight, hit them on a buffing wheel and MAN am I happy with those!!

maybe once a year that is a good idea, but its not THAT easy to take them off... use the simichrome (or other) for maintenance I figure....

That buffing wheel makes it look awesome though! Like NEW (and with over 100k miles on the car, they looked real bad before!) - I didnt do the insides...WAY over my level of "acceptable" w/o going down that road....
