Just let her know that her hands will also do the job.

Actually, it's funny that you mention this because I use the ultimate cupholder in my MkI. My father has a MkII with the cupholders just under the center vent. Oh, he has the sport suspension. I put my cup of coffee (with a covered lid save for the pour opening) into said holder, he hit a bump, and lo and behold, the coffee spilled all over the dash and the center console. Man, not pretty. Fortunately, we were on the way to the auto detailing shop to pick up my car. We left his. I place my coffee in the ultimate cupholder. Any spills? That's right...just on the carpet mat.

Didn't you read the owner's manual? It said never ever ever drive with a drink in the cupholder! I'd never do that...

Also, it warns you that spilling hot beverages may hurt you. Not sure why they feel the need to point that out.

I always thought the Ultimate Cup Holder would be in the way, unless you stick it on the passenger side - which wouldn't work if you have a passenger. See my dilemma?

It goes under where your thigh is so there is plenty of room since your foot is extended out to the accelerator. I guess the only people that would have problems are the vertically challenged since they would sit all the way forward.

Just ordered mine too - thanks to the news that it goes under your leg and doesn't get in the way!

Have the ultimates. Works pretty well. Passenger one never sits right, always at a ****-eyed angle. No idea why.

I much prefer a big roll of duct tape on the floor as opposed to a sneaker. Wide enough to provide spill free stability, and the gum on the edges is just sticky enough to hold it in place on the carpet, and not sticky enough to be a hassle when removed. Ah the poor student days in the 924S. Couldn't afford ultimate cupholders.
