It's not like the oil will go bad if it sits on your shelf for 9 months.

Mobil1 0w40 is so cheap over here, we should really stop complaining.

At the UK's largest auto parts retailer (Halfords) the cost for a 5L jug (closely equivalent to 5 US Quarts) weighs in at a massive $71.29!

We really do have it good here - assuming you can actually find enough on the shelves to do an oil change!

Maybe the question should be: Is Mobil 0W40 a good deal at ANY price? I wouldn't put in my car even if I got it free.

Best deal I've found is at Costco. I bought a few cases last time I was there, it was $34.99 for case of 6 if I recall correctly.

Currently using Mobil EXTENDED PERFORMANCE as it still has the level of zinc and other additives you need which have been removed fro Mobil Water. Castrol Syntec is good too as are many other brands such as Penzoil.

But Mobil Extended does not come in 0w40. Which grade do you use?

What grade was that case? I don't think that CostCo carries 0W40. I wonder if I should switch grades?

Ask your indy, or dealership, or search here for the latest approved oils for your 996.

They have some very specific requirements to cover - so the list has specific brands and weights listed.

No problem. I am finding it hard to find Mobil 1 0w40 for less that 7.99 here in NY/NJ. But with the rebate, you will save a little in April.
