Place a jack under the rear jacking point of the car and only pump it up to apply slight pressure so the engine doesn't move while you have the mounts out. (don't lift the car up)
Unbolt the 3 bolts from the top of the mount in the engine compartment. You may have to take the stock air box out to get better access to them. I have a CAI and did not have to remove it. (13mm I belivee)
Under the car you'll see one large nut where the stud from the mount passes through the sub frame. Ubolt this nut (17mm or 19mm) and the mount should then lift out from the top.

Just for clarification for Dave!, the rear jacking point he is referring to is this.
DO NOT lift from any other place on the engine.

Inspecting the Motor Mount:
Look under the car where the motor mounts connect to the rear engine cross-brace (on the ends of the cross-brace). If you see any dark purple or green fluid or residue on the brace ends then the mount has ruptured or is leaking. If so, then replace both mounts. The description that others have posted on how to do it are correct. It is a super-simple DIY.

It's actually easier to locate them on the top and then look below for the stud. You can't miss them in the engine bay. 2 4" diameter silver circles on either outer edge of the engine bay behind the motor.

Gents-
Much thanks for the great advice! The car does seem to be have a bit of difficulty smoothy shifting, I was told this is also a syptom of the engine moving too much due to bad mounts. Dealer telling me about $700, but business for them has been so bad that they are willing to offer a discount of 10%. Imagine that, a Porsche dealer actually negotiating on a repair. Whoda thunk a year ago....
Again, thanks!

Thanks Andy for the mount exact locations, great info. But for $700 that's way excessive labor cost based on info here, I hope you can find someone else cheaper in your area. Cheers,
