Default My New 40th Anniversary #714

Hey Guys,

On Friday morning, I flew to Baltimore (from Tulsa, Oklahoma) to pick up and drive home, 40th Anniversary #714. Thanks to Rennlist I had the car PPI'd at GT Performance and Gennady only spotted a couple of minor issues. I flew in Friday morning, landed at 12:30pm, the prior owner picked me up (in his Lexus... I was expecting the P-car), we went to his office and completed the deal and I was driving it home (after a quick sub at Subway) at 3pm. I drove her until about 9:30pm and spent the night in Bristol, Tennessee. After heading off at 6:15am, I finally pulled in the driveway at 8:10pm Saturday evening. After 1,333 miles, she was home!!! It's now up to about 16,700 miles.

Here's a couple of pics. The first was in our driveway Sunday morning before I had a chance to spray all the road salt off of it. The second pic was taken on 81 somewhere in Virginia close to the Tennessee line. There was not supposed to be any snow in the forecast and it was definitely a little nerve wracking at 80mph on PS2's! Luckily, the snow went away as quickly as it came.

I really enjoy the car so far. Compared to my previous 2000 996, I notice more power, better engine/exhaust sounds (x51?), the full leather interior with the silver accents is more attractive and rattle free, love the 3 spoke wheel, the list goes on and on.

Congrats on a beautiful car! Must have been a bit scary on PS2's in blowing snow!

She's a beauty! 40th also has LSD I think? Would be helpful in that snowstorm you were blasting through....

May I ask the price?

Glad things worked out at GTP. I've had good luck there too.

Thanks for all the comments! I drove the car to work today and couldn't wait to leave and let her loose (mostly on the on/off ramps...) on the way home!
