Default Um, what mods do I have?

Yesterday at the RAC Scan'N'Wash, Tim (gota911) and Bao (Botsy67), while thoroughly inspecting my C4S that I've only owned for a few months now, noticed that my exhaust did not sound stock and pointed out that the cans did not look stock.

Does anyone know how to ID a Fabspeed or GHL exhaust? From quick observation from the wheel well and poking my head under the car, there are no ID stampings of any kind, but the cans either look like Fabspeed or GHL. I am inclined to say that it's a GHL exhaust because the exhaust does not drone and only opens up at WOT -- that's why I never guessed it was aftermarket!

So this begs the next question... how would I be able to tell if the ECU has an aftermarket flash?

TIA,

///Michael

Call GIAC or any other company, give them your VIN, if they have you on file... then youve been flashed.

I got flashed once, or twice... or once with both?

Maybe you didn't get a PPI, normally they should pick up most mods or non-stock items.

Pretty unlikely your car was flashed, it's really only worth it if you have a Turbo or s/c.
You might have an intake or some other bits.
Meet up with guys like Tim or PCA guys and they'll spot stuff like that.

Have fun!

Thanks guys. The side of the cans that face the floor do not have anything stamped on them, but they look squarish-oval like Fabspeed and not oval-oval like GHL. If I can't ID these bad boys, then I may just continue w/ the plan and replace'em w/ PSE (or FisterD Mk2 cans) in the future. Yes, I know, I'm just weird like that. There's not method to my madness. Right when people that know me think they have me figured out, I surprise'em.

I bought this car a few months ago from a Porsche dealer as a CPO car. It had 15k miles and the sales person told me about the Escort SR7 radar and clear bra, but didn't mention anything about the exhaust. I figured that if it was a CPO car offered by a Porsche dealer, I could skip the PPI. In hindsight, I won't make that same mistake again.

Tim, during my teenage years many moons ago, when I was a naive employee at Burger King, I was working drive-thru one Sat (or Sun, I forget) morning. Imagine my shock when a completely nekkid lady in a Suburban pulls to the drive-thru window. Yes, she was nice looking. No, I don't have any pics. But it really, seriously happened. At the BK over at Park & Coit in Plano.

Did she have her headlights on?
Did you ask her if she wanted fries with that, er, shake?
Or maybe a hot turnover?

And excuse Tim for posting that off-topic picture of... a BMW.

Ah, the joys of drive thru. Similar story working at Wendy's during college. 4 girls in a early model Cavalier (or Sunbird, can't remember). I was working at the first window (where they take the cash), and a girl in the back takes her top off and presses her breasts up against the window, and they drive away laughing. To their surprise I showed up at the second window to give them their food. Got the number of the girl in the back seat. Sadly she turned out to be more than just a little bit nuts. Go figure.

Don't remember what forum I saw that pic in but it turned into 2 pages of trying to figure out what car that was.

1)It's obviously a beamer, what with the logo there and all.
2) Who cares?

My biggest n00b mistake was telling the entire staff when she pulled up. After that, I couldn't get back to the drive-thru window fast enough for a better inspection. Hell, I didn't even get to expedite her order... the manager did that.

I have seen a few other pics of her, and I believe them to be OEM cans.

I clicked the wrong quote from you but hey....back to your exhaust. IF you descide to swap them out AND I still have not got off my behind on my set up, shoot me a line on them, maybe we can work something out.
So far I have got to 1st base a couple times.... I am hoping for a homer on some cans one of these days
