Default Engine Died

I have a reman engine in my 98 996 5kms on it.Since it was fitted runs like a dream.
I was driving today and for no reason and no warning the engine just cut on me...its definately not an engine failure as i had one of those and i know what that looks like.

The engine is turning over but wont run.

Any ideas???

cheers

I washed my car the other day... and then it wouldn't start. It turned out to be the fuse that controls the fuel injection system...

I'd start with a thorough fuse check.

Do you get a CEL?

Locate your fuse box (driver's side, beside the clutch pedal). Get the fuse diagram (in your manual) and check every fuse that might be fuel or spark. If in doubt, check them all (I have). If's it's turning over and not starting, think fuel or spark. Have you had anything at all done to the car? We need to know. It could be something very simple.

Default Unless something very simple like a fuse (as someone suggested)...

best bet is to just get car to a Porsche service center for diagnosis.

Besides fuse problem due to either lack of fuel or lack of spark.

Car could be out of gas, fuel pump not working, or perhaps car filled with diesel fuel.

Lack of spark could be a dead engine controller.

None of the possibilities mentioned above are really solvable by someone with no auto machanical skills. No shame in that, though.

Get car to a dealer and I'm sure the problem will be sorted out shortly.

Sincerely,

Macster.

In Hong Kong, the fuse box may be on the passenger side...

Still on the driver's side but on the RIGHT side, next to the gas pedal
