Tim, where r u looking? My search shows $602 for the fronts, $322 for the rears. And I assume that's per pair, but it doesn't say.
I went to the bilstein site and looked under 2002 Porsche C2. ==> BilsteinC2 Shocks

The C4/Turbo schock will be higher.

The 144 (actually 145 rounded) is the amount of the discount. That amount needs to be subtracted from the original price of 322 to get your cost.

322 X 45% discount = 145 discount amount
322 - 145 discount = 177 price you pay

or shortcut

100% - 45% = 55% which is the percent of the original price that you will pay.
322 X 55% = 177 price you pay

And you know this because.... you had to ask him what the cost would be, right???

Actually, Maci's post was not real clear. I wasn't sure if he was quoting the discount amount or the price he would pay, so I wanted to make sure I covered both.

Besides, I just wanted to prove that I was as "tarp as a shack!"

A while ago, vendors were selling PSS9s under clearance prices for $1800 or $1750 plus shipping. Let's start with that water level instead of being marketed with this fancy math.

The Bilstein website is advertising a price of $3148. Therefore, its easy for them to announce such dramatic savings for all.

$3148 for PSS9s - $1800 = $1348

$1348 divided by $3148 = 42.8%

Folks, you are getting an additional 2% discount from what is a good price for PSS9. Its not 45%...

Hence, the reason the vendor wants you to go to the manufacturer website. Manufacturers are NOTORIOUSLY slow to update retail pricing as it comes down.

Sorry! I was incorrect. Sharkwerks was selling PSS9s for $1695 a while ago. This promotion is not as good of a deal.

http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...-two-kits.html

I paid $1850 shipped for mine last Christmas and thought it was a good price. Market price should be much cheaper now for PSS9s. Correct me if I am inccrect but I thought our stock suspension are Bilsteins.

Are you serious about these numbers? - Tim.... I stand corrected !
Can you do the little math lesson again. This time use the Fancy Math because the simple stuff doesnt work any more

<whispers> 45% off of $3148 means you pay $1731.40, I have no idea what you did up there, was that simply a re-aranging of the same numbers?

Ed,

At the end of the day, if you compare Sharkwerk's offer for PSS9s at $1695. Its still the best deal. Not $1,731.40. My math is comparing the price delta in % not actual selling price.

All Bilstein Sport and HD Shock pricing will be on their site at www.bilstein.com

All Bilstein Shocks are listed on their site as per shock, not as sets.

We ask that you go to the Bilstein website to see what retail pricing is and simply subtract 45% from Bilstein's retail price. This will give you your cost. Shipping is $25-$30 depending on where you're located and nobody will be charged sales tax unless we are shipping to the state of Texas. All of this is answered in the FAQ. Asking folks to simply look up their pricing on the Bilstein site directly makes much more sense than quoting 250 people each and every day. And yes, we are receiving that many inquiries to this offer, as it's on Audi, Mercedes, Mini, Porsche, Volkswagen, and Volvo forums around the country.

By all means, post a link somewhere that you can find 45% off Bilstein shocks being sold as an every day price. Maybe for a group buy, but not as an every day price. Granted, 45% off isn't spectacular, but it's less than you're going to find elsewhere - GUARANTEED. This will be our 4th Bilstein group buy in the last three (3) years, all among BMW, Mini, Volvo, VW and Audi owners before, and nobody ever complained about 45% off Bilstein list price. And again, the price is per shock on Bilstein's site, not as a pair.

And for all this PSS, PSS9, and PSS10 talk - it looks like some folks did not read the FAQs. The 45% off retail price DOES NOT apply to coilovers, only Sport and HD Shocks. On the Bilstein Coilovers, the price we can do (part number specific) are actually less than 45% off. For coilover pricing, simply PM us and we'll quote those as requested. For shocks, please see the Bilstein site, as the 45% discount will come right off Bilstein retail price.

For poops and giggles, though.

1999-2005 Carrera (996)

PSS9s - $1999.95 with free shipping.
PSS10s - $2224.95 with free shipping.

Either can ship within a day of ordering. Local customers can save a few bucks on shipping for those wanting to pick up their set. OEM strut mount and bearing kits can also be added at a discounted price.
